Pin and Play Ltd produce locked DVD’s whereby you can lock some or all of your content and charge customers to view this locked content. The content can only be viewed once a PIN is obtained.

How it Works

Consumers can receive a DVD by a number of methods, for example via a covermount on a magazine or given away free as part of a promotion. The service enables you to either offer none or some free content which the customer views as they would normally on a DVD. On the DVD menu they will also be given the option to access additional content which is securely locked and requires a PIN to access. The content is locked on both a DVD player and PC.

To access the locked content the viewer must obtain a PIN. This is acquired by either calling a premium rate telephone number or sending a premium SMS text message – this is the billing mechanism that generates the additional revenue. The viewer then receives a PIN which they enter into their DVD player’s remote control and they then gain access to the content.

For customers the service is easy to use with a straightforward, accessible, and reliable billing method – this simple unobtrusive payment mechanism maximizes the return per customer. Where free content is provided the locked additional content offers the customer an additional value add thereby increasing customer satisfaction.
